I am smiling because I finished my workout....not because I nailed it! I had excuses running through my head from the time my feet hit the floor this morning and the whole time I was working out.  My legs hurt!  My nose was running like a water faucet! My ears would not pop! My shoulder was hurting! My umph got up and went! Why do they want me to do another push-up? Who said roll jumps are fun? What is the point in ground to fighter stance? Blah...Blah...Blah... I didn't go as hard as normal…

I have been getting back into running after a hiatus last fall. Today's run was 35 minutes something I haven't done since summer. My brain and body were definitely not on board when I started and I wanted to give up so many times but I kept going. I allowed myself to walk a bit when my shins were hurting but I kept running.  It's so important to never give up on your goals. It's ok to change the methods or to take a break but you must never give up on them. You may have a few false starts…

When I first started running I would get blisters on the front of my toes (just below the nail) and at the top of my toes (it was a double-whammy and it hurt!). I thought well maybe I am running too much or my running form is bad or I need new shoes. I never thought that it was a result of terrible socks.  So I went through the process to address those issues by researching running form, evaluating my running lengths/training plan and my shoes.
