Octopus Salad - This is a light salad very much appreciated in Portuguese cuisine. The octopus, the main ingredient, is cooked and diced. It is served in small dishes and accompanied by onion, garlic, coriander and olive oil.
In 1943, Chicago's Pizzeria Uno developed the first deep-dish pizza. Rather than a flat crust, a deep-dish pizza has a thick flour and cornmeal pizza crust that is pressed into a deep, steel, pie-like pan. In terms of the toppings, the order of the sauce and cheese is reversed. The cheese is found on the bottom layer, followed by meat and veggie toppings, and finally covered in a chunky tomato sauce. Portuguese Tea Flan Avoid using a ceramic casserole or a glass baking dish. It will take much longer for the flan to cook, as these types of materials don’t don’t conduct heat as well as metal.—David Leite
