It's hard work, but I really want to be working at the Christmas tree lot I have worked at for the past 5 years. I work with some great people and have a lot of fun. Plus, no matter how dirty I get, I always smell good at the end of the day. I love smelling like the woods.

Crataegus mollis (Downy Hawthorn) is native from North Dakota to Nova Scotia. It has large white hawthorne flower clusters and relatively huge showy haws in late summer and fall. It should make an excellent, tough screen or hedge to near 20' in Truckee (I would guess). Douglas hawthorne is a western native that we have had great success with and this should be just as tough with faster growth.
