(Sultan Ahmet Camii) This is the Sultan Ahmet Mosque in Istanbul. It is also known as the Blue Mosque because of its blue tiles. It was built in 1609 by the Ottoman Sultan Ahmet I as the Islamic response to Hagia Sofia.

when you leave the Yedikule train station, you'll find a concentration of Greek styled houses, streets and some pretty churches.

Kadikoy's a huge district on the Asian side of Istanbul with a population of about half a million people, but it's got a fairly compact centre occupying the area around the ferry port and up the hill towards the upscale Moda . My favorite bookstores ,cafes are here.
