Nana and Tessie's recipe- unsure of origin: 2.5 C flour, 1C ground walnuts, 1/3 C sugar, 1/4 Tsp salt, 1C soft butter cut into 16 pieces, 2 egg yolk, 2 Tsp Vanilla. Combine dry ingrediants, cut in butter until crumbs. In a separate bowl combine yolks and vanilla then mix with dry mix. Shape into balls or crescents and cover and let set at room temp for 15 min. Bake 325 13-18 min. While warm sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Tessie and Nana's thumbprints, unknown origin. 1C butter, 1/2 C confectioners sugar, 1/4 Tsp salt, 1Tsp Vanilla, 2 1/4 C flour. Cream first three, then add last two ingrediants. Form into small balls, press with thumb. Fill indentation with small bit of Rasp or apricot jelly. Bake @400 for 8 ~12 min.

(I had no pic =) ) 1 cup margarine (softened) 2-Tbsp. butter (softened) 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar (packed) 2 eggs 2 tsps. vanilla3 ½ to 4 cups flour (sometimes more) 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips Beat margarine and butter, and then add sugars, eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and add to batter. Then add chocolate chips. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
Nana's Queen's Biscotti (sesame seed cookie) Origin(The Italian Cookbook from Culinary Arts Institute) Light grease w/Crisco 2 cookie sheet. Sift in bowl, 4C sifted flour, 1C sugar, 1 Tbsp bak powder, 1/4 tsp salt. Cut in with pastry blender, 1C Crisco, until size of peas. Stir in 2 slightly beaten eggs, 1/2C milk(1 Tbsp at a time until dough is soft) Break into small pieces, roll to form small logs, roll in sesame seeds.
