Vizcaya, Biscayne Bay
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens: Built in 1916 by agricultural industrialist James Deering, this Italian Renaissance-style villa is surrounded by more than 10 acres of formal gardens, terraces and fountains overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Beware of well-hung gentlemen lounging about the gardens!
Vizcaya Estate Designed to look like a ship at sea, the stone-clad "barge" was the site of magnificent parties. Featuring hand-carved statues by the sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder, it serves as an important breakwater for Vizcaya.
