The Ken Iwata Mother and Child Museum is a semi-open museum designed to house 44 pieces of sculptures created by the sculptor Ken Iwata. The museum is located on Omishima, a small island within the Seta Inland Sea, rich in nature and culture, blessed with magnificent orange groves, and an Ohyamazumi Shrine that is said to have been built circa 1500 years ago.

Kiriake Onsen in the northern corner of Nagano Prefecture near the borders with Niigata and Gunma Prefectures.  You park your car at the lone ryokan, Yusenkaku, grab a shovel, cross the suspension bridge, walk down to the river, take care to avoid the onsen hot spots (the onsen temperature is supposedly a toe-tingling 57 deg C), find an area where the temperature is to your liking and move the rocks around until you have your own little onsen pool.  picture: Relaxing in the Kiriake…

The beaches are an active playground for surfers, water-skiers and sunbathers. You can also go white water rafting on the Fuji and Shiba rivers. Traditional Japanese Temple
