The mythological tale of Cupid and Psyche is one of the few Greek and Roman myths that has not fully become assimilated into modern consciousness.

Psyche is the goddess of the soul in Greek mythology. Her name literally means “soul” or “breath of life”. She was originally born as a beautiful mortal woman, however her affair and marriage with the Eros (the god of love) eventually lead to her becoming his immortal wife. She is seen as being a merciful goddess and the story of Eros and Psyche is about how love and the soul came together. #myth
