Pork Shoulder Braised with Apples. Some varieties of apples fall apart while cooking; here you want the apples to hold their shape. Pink Lady and Honeycrisp are good choices and are widely available. Served here with cheesy grits
Pork Shoulder Braised in Milk -- not that I'm blaming the recipe for this, since I altered it dramatically, but all in all, I don't think this was a particularly great idea. I don't think braising in milk added much to the equation.
