Victoria's children (first): Princess Victoria (Vicky), Princess Royal. She became the Crown Princess of Prussia, then Empress of Germany due to her marriage to Friedrich Wilhelm (Fritz) of Hohenzollern (Emp.Frederick III). She was therefore the Princess Royal of the UK as well as being known as Empress Frederick of Prussia. She was the mother of Kaiser Wilhelm II. She died only a few months after her mother, Victoria, of cancer, in 1902.

“Empress Frederick as the crown princess of Prussia (princess royal of England).” From an 1861 photo. Weird, confusing caption for those not up to date on their Prussian-German history (like me). Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa (1840-1901) was Queen Victoria’s oldest child and held the title Princess Royal of England. She became the Crown Princess of Prussia in 1861 after her husband (Prince Frederick William of Prussia) became the Crown Prince. In 1888, Frederick became Emperor
