Mildred Jeter, a black woman, married Richard Loving, a white man. In 1958, interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia, so the couple had to get married in Washington D.C. When they returned to Virginia, they were charged with a crime and exiled from Virginia. Loving v. Virginia led to The Supreme Court ruling the law banning interracial marriage was unconstitutional...Amen!!!!
