Picked this book by my usual method (when I was a teenager anyway!) - by walking around the library with my eyes shut & grabbing the first book I touched! I often discovered great books that I might've otherwise not read. This is wonderful writing about my favourite place - Melbourne (actually a story about a woman coming to grips with loving a junkie). Helen Garner is a wonderful writer - very descriptive & lots of depth & humour.
