But do we show them techniques on how to regulate their emotions and take control of their body and breath? Recent studies suggest that mind-body exercises such as yoga can lower blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate in children. The mind, nervous system + body can disconnect from the outside word + come into a place of stillness + restoration. The belly rests on the thighs, giving the internal organs a massage, assisting with healthy digestion.
