I have heard good things about The Help but it really blew me away. This poignant and inspiring story takes place in Jackson, Miss. in the 1960s. An aspiring writers wants to write about the African American maids in the south, she encounters resistance from both sides. When the book is published, it nudged the civil rights movement forward. Truly inspiring film based on a book. The acting was superb shown by several Oscar nominations and wins. A must see movie for historical sake at least.

The Help In this case I actually liked the movie more than the book, which is rare. The book drove me crazy because of the authors use of Webonics (white person ebonics). She was not at all consistent. She should have studied the language
