After death and desecration:  The head of King Henry IV of France, found in the garage of a French pensioner in 2010.  You can actually see where his ear was pierced too.  Born in 1553, died 1610 when he was assassinated by a Catholic fanatic.  Who knew that death to religious fanatics could be hereditary across cousins?  The head has finally been proved by genetic testing to be that of Good King Henry's.

The ancient & historic Hatfield House was home to the young Queen Elizabeth I. It was at Hatfield House that Elizabeth received news of her proclamation as Queen & first received her newly appointed council. Much of the old house is gone, and the newer parts have long been the home to the Earls of Salisbury since the begining of the 17th century. The gates are to keep dogs from going upstairs.
