After living in Colorado it's hard not to hate on Coors, but familiarity does indeed breed contempt. I could be off the mark here but it seems like Coors is always going for bottling "innovations" more than the other macros instead of focusing on better beer. First it was all about the cold activation, now the wide mouth resealable cap. Why is this good? I guess this makes it easily portable and faster poured? Either way..the scent is grainy and the taste is sweet and watery, why…

It's the pinner's comment that makes this funny: Dear Coors Light . what kind of punk needs a resealable beer bottle?

Coors Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Lager is a 5.5 ABV 26 IBU American Adjunct. The appearance is light orange and the nose that usual off-putting adjunct lager. The flavor is actually fairly decent with sweet grainy malt and a distinct bitter hop finish. This is allegedly from a 100+ year old recipe and includes Hersbrucker and Strisselspalt hops. Beyond the maybe gimmicky story is a fairly decent beer and a major improvement on your basic Coors product. Try one.

My Antonia – Pours a hazy yellow-orange colour with a creamy off-white medium head. Aroma of citrus, fruity hops, spices and hay in the background. The flavour is slightly sour with citrus, grassy hops, some sweet fruit and alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. It’s like a nice mix of an IPA and a wit. One of a kind taste.

Rogue Hazelnut Brown (Ale) Nectar is a 6.2 ABV and 33 IBU. The appearance is reddish brown and the nose sweet and nutty. The flavor is malty sweet with chocolate and very definite hazelnut finishing lightly bitter. Overall mouthfeel and texture are moderate with a bit of a finishing mouth coat. This stops just short of top notch because of a slight bit of wateriness. It's one to try, great for a dessert beer.

Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin AIPA is 7 ABV and 70 IBU. The appearance is orange amber with a large head and the nose pine hop and fresh grapefruit. The palate is sweet malt and bitter pine citrus hop in perfect balance. That addition of grapefruit well compliments the hops and lends a bright fresh fruit note. The big west coast hop profile and grapefruit could have been a mouth puckering hop bomb but it's so refrained. Mouthfeel is creamy but ultimately drinkable. This is top…

Ale Asylum Ambergeddon is a 6.9 ABV American Amber / Red. The appearance is dark red and the nose sweet caramel malt and boozy. The flavor follows, sweet caramel, bready, finishing with a bittersweet hop bite. The mouthfeel is a bit thick in the mouth and the sweetness heavy but it's still a solid B+ beer. Cool bottle art and naming for sure. Really good for a one and done.

Westbrook One Claw Rye (American) Pale Ale is 5.5 ABV and pours hazy orange amber. The nose and palate are sweet malt and fruity pine hop with the added spice and bitterness from the rye. Overall mouthfeel, carbonation and texture are all moderate, drinkable crisp and quite refreshing. This is my third Westbrook and I've yet to be let down whatsoever. Very good.

Fat Tire and Friend's Fat Hoppy Ale is a 6 ABV Amber in collaboration with New Belgium and Firestone Walker. The pour is bubbly orange and the nose pineapple hop. The flavor has that doughy, sweet malt of an amber finishing with a fruity subtle onion like hop. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean and has good depth of flavor for a low abv. This is a nice part of the Fat Tire & Friend's collab box, looking forward to the rest.

Stone Imperial Russian Stout is 10.8 ABV and 65 IBU (warrior hop) and pours black with little head. The nose and palate are sweet boozy malt and rum raisin with a long bittersweet finish. Notes of roasted coffee and chocolate are present. It's a stunning beer, however, the low level of carbonation and high level of booziness gives this a cloying feel, it's a sipper to say the least. I'm wondering if sitting on this for a few weeks was optimal. Either way, certainly recommendable.
