Santa Fe’s articulated doodlebug M190 and one coach were running 75 mph when they zipped by the Chisum, N.M. station sign. Train 25 operated between Clovis and Carlsbad and informally was called the “Pecos Valley Chief.” The M190 survives today at the Museum of American Railroads at Frisco, Texas.
