Paint Stick Sentences - For this center all you need is blank paint sticks and small picture flash cards. I got my sticks at Home Depot. Write simple sentence frames on the paint sticks. Using flash cards the students complete the sentence. The students can copy the sentences onto paper.

I love this activity to assist students with forming correct sentences.  Then they can practice writing from a model, which allows them to focus on proper writing mechanics.

Kiddos can high five words on the way out of the room! I would have a whole bucket full and pick a new one each time we left.

Hang the sight word of the week on the door and students "high five" the word and say it as they leave the room. I've also seen teachers put a vocabulary word of the week on the door! Kids see it coming and going!

Can be adjusted to use K-6...the kids loved it!
