So my kids LOVE those Nutrigrain cereal bars with the chewy jelly-type filling (oatmeal type crust) - though I buy the Great Value brand at Walmart. I've been searching for a recipe to try making them ourselves (no artificial junk) Gonna try this!
I was forced to improvise some ingredients in my usual muffin recipe this morning, and boy was I glad! These were seriously good (my husband had 8 of them in one sitting) and you would never guess they are healthy. Makes a bakers dozen (or 12 biggies).
Homemade Nutri-Grain-Style Cereal Bars (with a gluten-free option!) - this looks quite promising, though it would be nice to improve the filling to something less sugary than jam; I'd be tempted to make PBJ-bars!
