Yayoi Kusama's 1998 Pumpkin.  草間彌生(Yayoi Kusama )被視為日本現存最偉大的藝術家,  草間彌生對斑點的迷戀,源自幼年患的神經性視聽障礙,  這場疾病,使她看到的世界,仿佛隔著一層斑點狀的網。  她開始畫這些斑點,草間彌生把它們看成是細胞,分子,是來自宇宙的信號。  她的作品,就是她看見的世界,  草間彌生十多歲開始有幻覺,她曾說﹕  「我有如走在沒在盡頭的路上、踏上沒在盡頭的扶手電梯,直到死﹔  又有如喝了一千杯咖啡、或吃了千萬呎通心粉!」  草間彌生長住在東京的精神治療所中,創作藝術,  她曾經表示:如果不是爲了藝術,我應該很早就自殺了。  又是一個鮮明的藝術家性格呀!.....
