A glimpse into the lives of upper crust African-American society who summer on Martha's Vineyard and the inner circle of an Ivy League Law School. The author is a professor of law at Yale Law School. Every subsequent book he has written is as well written as this one. This was his first novel, one which I thoroughly enjoyed.

"The Fortunate Son" by Walter Mosley (my absolute favorite author). This was a disturbing yet engaging and well-written story about 2 brothers-one Caucasian and one African-American who suffer different perils in life. A must read!

Interesting read. Just depends on where you stand regarding BC. I find him to be uniquely human and a keen intellect. He is as unique as American's come

This is the most recent book in a great British police procedural series I discovered this year. Brock and Kolla are partners at Scotland Yard and are now faced with solving the mystery of the murder of Nancy Haynes, an American tourist who came to London for the Chelsea Flower Show. This series never fails to disappoint me and I always enjoy the mystery and interplay between the two detectives.
