This photo is from my trip to Sun Temple in Konark, Orissa in year 2009 , also known as the Black Pagoda. It was supposedly built by king Narasimhadeva I of Eastern Ganga Dynasty around 1250. It has been built in the shape of a gigantic chariot with elaborately carved stone wheels, pillars and walls. A major part of the structure is now in ruins. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hampi Stone Chariot, Hampi (Karnataka) Visiting Bellary has been one of the most memorable trips i had in my life... As contrary to the fact that most of the monuments/visiting places have less greenery, the natural beauty of the stone architecture simply took my breath away. I was destines to witness liveliness of those lines which read "If Dreams Were Made Of Stones, It Was Hampi" ... Here's me n my son taking pride posing in front of famous Hampi Stone Chariot :)…

Hoover Dam, National Historic Landmark, Photo: Jeanie Catron: This 726-foot-tall concrete arch-gravity storage dam, begun in 1933, dedicated 1935, was the greatest achievement in hydraulic engineering since the Panama Canal. Among the Bureau of Reclamation's earliest and largest multipurpose dams, it harnessed the Colorado River to provide flood control, irrigation, recreation, and electric power. Architecturally, its Art Deco style details with Indian motifs are notable.

The drive to Las Vegas will never be quite the same now that the highway has been constructed to bypass the Hoover Dam.
