Mainstream media often highlights the tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, which stem from a complex and inter-twined history. Rarely are stories profiled that speak to the more positive relations between the neighboring countries and peoples. Were the whole story to be told, "...past and present instances of cooperation and evidence of converging interest among the Haitian and Dominican people and their governments" would surely be evident.
