Happy Birthday Patrick the Wombat! This 29 year old is the world’s oldest living wombat. Given that Patrick has never had children, or any partners in general, probably makes him the oldest living wombat virgin as well!

The Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) is an Australian species of frogmouth, a type of bird found throughout the Australian mainland, Tasmania and southern New Guinea. The Tawny Frogmouth is often mistaken for an owl.

The Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) is also common on our farm, so it was nice to also see him in Tasmania. Made us feel at home.

As with any kind of photography there are always challenges when shooting. For landscape photographers there can be challenges such as waiting for the light or stillness from the wind (the wind is a killer for long exposures in the forest) and much more. Getting sharp images when you are dealing with nature can be difficult! However fine art landscape photographer @friedmanphoto has experienced even more special challenges in nature: I have been fortunate enough to experience incredible…

Where I live we don't often get the chance to do cake decorating classes. Handi Mulyana from Handi's Cakes made the trek down to Tasmania and I was lucky enough to spend six days with him and learned so many new things! This cake was my favourite, his high tea topsy turvy. I chose to stick to a mostly pink colour palette and I love the end result.

Everyone has heard the story of the lost city of Atlantis, but what about the Bimini Road? In 1968 an underwater rock formation was found near North Bimini Island in the Bahamas. It is considered by many to be naturally made, but because of the unusual arrangement of the stones, many believe it to be a part of the lost city of Atlantis (first spoken of by Plato).

Tino Carnivale turned up at our stall at the Blooming Tasmania festival in Launceston on the weekend. He's a truly like lovely fellow. His fans were quick to ask questions and pose for photos with him. All done with such good humour. The weather, however, was less good humoured and we left early. But our beautiful new stands that Trev made (and quickly adapted to keep the rain out) worked well.
