Child's Play: The Art of Toy Rotation- a great article on the toy overload problem. I would add a permanent group of toys (ones that a child is attached to) and the rest would go on rotation list and out of sight.
Students are making words in this activity. They are creating a word in a consonant-vowel-consonant patteren. This could be extended into word families or sight words. Students could do this as word work or at a station. I do this with spelling words.
