These sleeping foxes are my #1 selling kit. I hear all the time from mothers who stitch them up for a nursery (or better yet a twin nursery). They are one of my easiest kits to sew too which makes them great for those first few stressful months of a new baby. I only wish I could say the foxes promote sleeping in the nursery.
This is what I love to hear. Learning a new craft can be intimidating but embroidery doesn't need to be. I design my kits to be perfect for beginners because it's basically crafting with hand-holding. Haha. And yes, I do apologize that some people become a bit addicted. It's not my fault!
I was too busy enjoying Maui to stitch my flamingo much but last night I sat down with SNL and stitched in between bursts of laughter. I hope you guys enjoyed this month's Super Stitchers' Club pattern. I never quite know what the thread colors will look like when I order but this pink was PERFECT!!! I may be slightly addicted to this type of thread now.
I'm driving down to San Francisco this week and part of me wants to 'accidentally' veer off and go on vacation in Yosemite instead. If I do end up where I'm supposed to go I just hope these little kits make people smile. I'd count that a win.
Most Mondays I find myself wishing I were on vacation. Today I am thinking about New York City and all the amazing museums I could visit. I would also be sure to go across the Brooklyn Bridge a few times. Did you know back in the early 1900s when waves of immigrants came through the city that a common scam was to sell the Brooklyn Bridge to people? They were told that everything was for sale in America. Policemen had to patrol the bridge to stop the con artists. Just a little tidbit of odd…
It's raining it's pouring and this young lady was definitely snoring when she took an afternoon nap. This cloudy weather turns me into a sluggish creature who loves to curl up with warm blankets. Does the rain do the same to you?
Road trip embroidery today. I am sewing up our re-designed West and East Coast kits while we drive up to Seattle to scope out some new locations for Studio MME. These new round hoop kits will be back in the shop in two weeks.
It is nearly fiddlehead fern season here in the PNW. Can't wait to see ferns like this in person again. My botanical series of kits will make perfect springtime sewing projects to match what you find on your hikes.
Lilacs always help me remember those who were in my childhood but are now gone. My grandfather was an amazing gardener so the smell always reminds me of his backyard. It also reminds me of my other grandfather telling me to suck it up after a bee stung me by lilacs because the pain was all in my head. (My grandmother and I disagreed.) Happy Memorial Day! May you enjoy looking back at fond memories of those who have gone before you.
TGIF! This parakeet is all about celebrating whether it is your birthday or just your awesome 'my outfit matched' day. That is what makes him such a fine friend. After all the best friends always bring cupcakes. This parakeet and three other party animals will be in the shop in just 5 days!
