HMS REPULSE, 1926: under-armoured when built late in WW1, even for a type which had proved notoriously deficient in this respect at Jutland, she received some additional protection in the 1920s, but not the extensive modernisation her sister Renown got the following decade. Her AA armament was notably weak: she was sunk by Japanese air attack in December 1941 together with modern battleship HMS Prince of Wales.
