gilt copper torque with inlaid lapis, malachite and coral, pearl 18th c My feeling on these necklaces is that they were actually made for the Chinese court by Mongolians most likely Buriat but are usually categorized as Tibetan. ( Archives sold Singkiang )
Old Tibetan Buddha panel collar. | Including the round front piece there are a total of 15 linked panels all with sculptural figures - the only two that don't have sitting Buddhas are the panels bordering the center piece - they have dancing figures. The turquoise is inlaid glass/faience - look very carefully - faces are molded faience with subtle features. The coral are either glass or actual coral. The base is brass - back has a gold wash finish.
