The Downtown Development Authority made another step toward removing the Daniels Showroom from the historic trio of buildings known as the Longworth at an Aug. 16 meeting.    The motion, led by Mark Heydlauff, involves seeking solicitations of bids for removing the showroom, capping the foundation of the building with cement and securing all doors and lower windows to the front of the Mack building, which would be revealed when the connected showroom is demolished.

Chelsea’s Healthy Communities Walking Program is inviting the public to take part in an upcoming event endorsed by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.    The Labor Day Fun Walk is slated for Sept. 3 at the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center, 17030 Bush Road, in the Waterloo Recreation Area. Participants will have their choice of taking part in a 5.3-mile hike or 1.5-mile walk.
