"I see Steve at this aid station stop for a while chat and take a selfie (sorry Steve it's out of focus - I need to work on that selfie game) Steve is a big inspiration - he's part of the Total Sport team that put these events together. He's a awesome runner like really really awesome and gets to go to run in places I can only dream of at this stage and most importantly a super awesome guy." These are a few words from my blog a few months ago - we gonna miss you Steve. I'm lost for words my…

I find my greatest moments of inspiration, when collecting things I come across in nature. I get lost in my head collecting flowers, twigs, sea glass, driftwood, and other treasures. These walks are a peaceful time where my mind can wander freely and my thoughts begin to make sense. I’ve always loved pressing flowers and leaves into sketchbooks to mark a place and time in my life. The flowers I don’t press curl up and dry, becoming beautiful small sculptures that find a place in my home.

Be the blogger you want to read I've been having a lot of thoughts recently about my place in blogging and what modern day plus size blogging is compared to what it was 5 years ago when I started. Somewhere along the way I've lost parts of myself mainly down to comparisons with others. Thoughts of what I should be doing replaced thoughts of just being me.Every few months (around the change of seasons) I question everything and this is one of these times - exacerbated by preparing to move…

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy.' They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon

'Your paintings are too busy too chaotic'. Being this far lost in a painting and trying to find my way out is a common theme. These white lines are all I have to hold on to right now and I have no idea how long they will be around for. Experiences memories observations thoughts and fancies are all combined in my paintings. Too much to cram in / get out? This started with a photo of Dungeness. A place where I visited with my parents visit with my wife and children explored as a child and roam…

Rest In Peace to all those who have lost their lives in the inhumane, heartbreaking attacks in Tunisia today. May you all be in a safer place with God. My thoughts are with those families and those who are seriously injured by the attacks - May God guide you and give you strength. Collectively, as one we all need to stand against these evil, cruel acts. People learn to hate others based on religion, ethnicity, gender etc: we desperately need love in this world in order to live in world…

Daunt Bookstore. A place to get lost in for hours, running your fingers across the spines of stories and faraway lands. The light is filtered, the shelves are stacked, the floors creak as you walk around and this place is just everything you thought, and hoped, a bookstore would be. These places still exist, this one tucked in a London neighborhood, where I bought one of my favorites in the country it's based in, Watership Down.
