"Print and Plastic" by Shannon Erwin. Made of fashion magazines and bread tabs. Featured in the 2012 Eco-Fashion show, a benefit of the Kootenai Environmental Alliance that showcases the runway outfits made from recycled materials by local artists.
This animated dress form, created by Lisa Hoffman and called “Underneath,” was also part of the 2nd Skin: Imaginative Designs in Digital & Analog Clothing exhibit at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Made from computer circuit boards, the mannequin-like creation interacts with the audience by turning to face whoever is standing closest to it. Adding another medium to the work of art, a microphone, mounted under the dress, amplifies the sound of the stiff Tyvek material as it moves.
