This pelerine or fichu (or canezou?) is a gorgeous example from the golden age of whitework accessories! Its made of a fine muslin and has 3 layers that lie gracefully around the shoulders and look exquisite with a period brooch or pin. It is in superb condition; I see no holes, tears, or damage, even where it would have been pinned. The only flaw I detect is a pale yellowing at the back collar area, probably where it touched the original owners neck - or perhaps hair product! Yes, they did…
