Australia | Aboriginal smoke ceremony | © Deb Morris Ancestral Beings are an intrinsic part of Aboriginal belief and everyday thought. As one moves through the day, walking past a particular rock or creek, spearing a particular animal, catching a goanna , or collecting other bush foods, the Ancestral Beings who created these places and things come to mind. Even making tools and weapons will bring to mind the myths and legends of the Ancestral Beings who taught the Aborigines these skills.

Lovely shot of the iconic kangaroos in Australia! they do not hop down the city streets!

Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is one of Australia's most recognisable natural landmarks. Uluru is sacred to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. On 19 July 1873, the surveyor William Gosse sighted the landmark and named it Ayers Rock in honour of the then Chief Secretary of South Australia, Sir Henry Ayers. Since then, both names have been used.
