Depicting the young man in a black coat, crème vest and black ascot. With riding trousers and polished knee-high black boots. With a flourish of detail such as a tie-pin and black cap set upon the twin’s shock of ginger hair. With a background silhouette serving as a reminder of the twin not pictured.
There was a fair amount of press surrounding the 1956 film Diane, starring Lana Turner, with costumes by Walter Plunkett. Turner was photographed next to many of Plunkett’s creations for publicity for the film. Despite the film’s large budget, many costumes were still taken from earlier productions. This particular gown, also designed by Plunkett, originated in the 1953 film Young Bess
