The Modernist style Penguin Pool at London Zoo, Regent's Park, London UK [Berthold Lubetkin / Tecton, 1934] was constructed with dual spiral concrete ramps, and quickly became a favourite for the zoo's visitors. However, when restoration work was needed in 2004, the penguins were moved out temporarily to a nearby duck pond, which they much preferred, so they refused to move back to their famous architectural masterpiece! Listed Grade I
