Designed by Japanese interior designer, Ichiro Nishiwaki, the Academic Life store is designed to enhance both daytime and nighttime visibility. This was achieved through the structure of the space and strategic placement of LED lights throughout the floors and walls.

Yuri Kawanabe -   Yuri Kawanabe was born in Japan and has held Australian residency since 1987. She first came to Australia in 1984 soon after completing her master's degree in metal work from the National University of Fine Arts, Tokyo. She has received a number of awards including the Award of Excellence, Jewellery Art Competition, Tokyo, 1996 and the Japan Jewellery Prize, Japan Jewellery Exhibition, Tokyo, 1984.
