The portrait, which is featured in a new edition of Keepers of the Kingdom, depicts the monarch wearing the robes of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, the most senior order of Scottish chivalry.

Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones on June 19, 1999.  The brides coat style gown was made by a British designer by the name of Samantha Shaw, out of ivory silk organza and silk crepe, with 325,000 crystals and pearls fastened along the neck, full-length sleeves.  A cathedral-length veil composed of silk tulle and sprinkled with crystals was fastened to a diamond tiara of which belonged to the groom's mother, the Queen of England.
