The Hitch-Hiker, directed by Ida Lupino. This is the only film of the golden age of film noir directed by a woman (Lupino also starred in several film noirs, such as On Dangerous Ground and Road House (in which she sings, terribly)). The hitch-hiker is played by William Talman, most well-known for portraying the prosecutor in the Perry Mason television series.
