Creation Station: Fifth Grade Kimmy Cantrell Clay Masks

Fifth grade has just finished up a lesson inspired by masks created by Georgia artist Kimmy Cantrell.

Last school year, I introduced graders to the artwork of Kimmy Cantrell, a Georgia native. They enjoyed making these quirky clay faces.

Chihuly Art Lessons: Chihuly Style at Gra-Mar Middle School 5th -8th Grade

coloring overhead transparencies with permanent markers, placing the transparencies on clay pots and heating with the heat gun to create "glass Macchia" like Dale Chihuly. I must get a heat gun!
