McNeill, Alexander Malcolm, Lance Corporal, 2nd Battalion Gordon Highlanders, Number S/7809. Born 27th November 1891 son of James and Christina McNeill of Redford Row, Muiravonside, Stirlingshire. Brother of James, Peter, Jean and Lizzie. Coal Miner. Lived in Bonhard Cottage, Carnock, Fife and enlisted in Aberdeen on 28th November 1914. Killed in action aged twenty four on 1st July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme. He is buried in Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz
