Sabine Pass Lighthouse ~ a historic lighthouse in Cameron Parish, LA, on the Louisiana side of the Sabine River. The lighthouse went into operation in 1857 and remained lit for 95 years, with the exception of a brief period during the U.S. Civil War. The light was permanently extinguished by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1952. The keeper's house and wooden outbuilding were destroyed by a marsh fire in the 1970s. The original copper lantern housing was stolen in 1979.
Old Scituate Light also known simply as Scituate Light is an historic lighthouse located on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts. Occasional tours are available from the Scituate Historical Society. The keeper's house is a private residence. The current keeper is Bob Gallagher, a History teacher at Marshfield High School in Marshfield, Massachusetts. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 as Scituate Light.
