this is super cute - little origami cherry blossoms on real twigs in a vase, the little buggers are pretty hard to make though. it takes several to get the hang of it. also, start with large square paper and work your way to little ones. you can also use thin wire to attach the flowers. these would look adorable on bobby pins! i wonder if they could be attached to a string of lights.. would that be a fire hazard?
Cherry blossoms a new way. Add a haiku of course... And they can mix tints & shades for meeting 2nd grade standard & to add variation in each project. For branch they could draw one and cut it out of a paper bag and add implied texture with construction paper crayons or by distressing the bag fibers. Maybe try putting paper on a texture plate and rubbing w/ something that wont leave a mark but will pick up the raised surface. They could make texture plates w/ glue on cereal boxes.
