Saxifraga cotyledon - Pyramidal Saxifrage A low alpine plant, forming rosettes of evergreen leaves a little like Hen-and-Chicks. Best in a partly-shaded rock garden, especially happy when growing in crevices between rocks. Planting this at the top of a rock wall will allow the flower sprays to arch over and show to their best advantage. Nice also in trough or container gardens. Clumps may be divided in early spring. Good drainage, but roots prefer the coolness that rocks will provide.
