Pair of wedding knives V&A M.12 to B-1950; dated to 1638;  The finial of the octagonal handle is silver filigree, above convex drop-shaped clear amber panel over a white amber profile bust of a man, set against foil. In the central section clear amber panels over painted foil alternate with ivory strips. The foil is decorated with designs of coursing dogs and other animals.
