Tim Clarke is creating a dining room for the Showhouse inspired by dream client Blake Lively. "Everything looks very sun-kissed and personal, as if someone like Blake could actually live there, as opposed to most showhouses that are more about viewing artistic statements," says Clarke. His new book Coastal Modern: Sophisticated Homes Inspired by the Ocean includes this shot of a room at the home of Saving Private Ryan and Criminal Minds producer Mark Gordon.
A summer home on Nantucket Island boasts a classic coastal color scheme. In the living room, knotty pine ceilings warm the crisp navy hues of the sofas and pillows. “We wanted a casual beach look so we could come in with sand on our shoes or sit on the living room sofa with a wet bathing suit and not worry about it,” says homeowner and designer Trudy Dujardin.
