Swamp fores This fine stand of kahikatea fringes the shore of Lake Paringa, South Westland. Kahikatea is New Zealand’s tallest tree, reaching 60 metres in height. It forms dense forests on swampy ground, but will grow in fertile hill country up to an altitude of 700 metres.
I'll never get tired of the amazing colors here in the Autumn. I've still never made it up to the northeast in the autumn (around Maine), and that is still on my bucket list. But this is the best I have seen so far.
