Study after Velazquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X, 1953 by Francis Bacon. Bacon died in 1992. He was an existentialist that depicted portraits with a grotesqueness of unfounded levels. His work reminds me of early Expressionist artsits Munch and Van Gogh. ...just more extreme.
