Here’s a photo from the wonderful collection of four photos of Satchel Paige, taken by a Los Angeles Times photographer on November 12, 1933. The location is White Sox Park, on 38th St. and Compton Ave. in South Los Angeles. Satch was playing for the Royal Giants, a team made up of players largely from the Negro Leagues.
