https://flic.kr/p/wZNVuj | De Luysen | The Luysen is a nature reserve in the Belgian municipal of Bocholt, which consists of a complex of 40 hectares of fishponds and a swampy forest. The ponds are fed by the Abeek. The area is owned by Natuurpunt. The name of the area comes from the Luys-kruyd, and this was then reed, reed grass or cattail. The fishponds of the Luysen and the nearby Mariahof, partly used as a swimming pond, were purchased in 1996 by Natuurpunt and redecorated.
