Track and field legends gather for USATF Legends of the Past Celebrity Basketball Game fundraiser. With the main events of the Olympic Trials on hiatus, USA Track & Field found another way to get the competitive juices flowing. USATF hosted the first Legends of the Past in an effort to raise money for charitable causes while enjoying some light-hearted fun.

It was bait and catch at the fish fry as residents thronged to La Cygne’s Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for some fellowship and fun, co-hosted by the Knights of Columbus and Prairie View High School’s Level Four students. The event has become a great fundraiser for the Level Four students’ Special Olympics trip to Hays, PVHS teacher Cheryl Kratzberg said. Even though the students won’t be able to attend this year’s event, the money will still be put to good use, she said.

The event was the annual Saint Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser to help kids fight cancer.
